Windos Key + P shortcut not working on Logon Screen

Hi,

I have my computer connected to a Asus Monitor (office) and a Samsung TV (living room) in my apartment.

So when I want to use computer on living room and the projector output is not set for TV, I just can take the wireless keyboard and type the shortcut "Windows Key + P" to change projection to TV without the needing of: go to office; turn on the monitor; change projector to TV; go back to living room.
The same applies when moving from living room to office.

But this stopped working 1 or 2 months back from now.
Now, if I press "Windows Key + P" on logon screen the options to change projector doesn't show up anymore, actually nothing happens.

Are there any form to have that function back (windows settings, registry, policies)?
Besides a single topic with wrong instructions, I didn't find anything on internet related to this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Have you found any solutions yet. I have the same issue but work at a university with computers hooked up to projectors in our classrooms. We usually keep the systems in duplicate mode but sometimes instructors use extended and leave it that way. In extended if I check turn on the projector and it doesn't show a window until I after its logged in. Its so much easier to hit WIN P, put it back into duplicate from the login screen. In Win 10 it worked this way.

We only installed win 11 in our classrooms at the start of the term, its a tiny issue but when you are trying to get things going for class of 200 students every second counts.

It is true that since the KB5028185 update, Displayswitch.exe (Win + P) has stopped working on the login screen. I submitted a ticket in the feedback hub, but it was somehow discarded by the support team.
Since the last updates, they seem to be messing around with Displayswitch.exe (only on Win 11, Win 10 machines work fine last time I checked).
I don't know what they are doing (maybe fixing security issues, I don't know).

The only solution I found is to replace the file "C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe" with the old version before this update. After that it works again (even after 2023-10 KB5031354 it is still broken).
Please also note that you have to take ownership of the file within system32 first, because Windows prevents changing files inside "system32".

The version you are looking for is found here (Ver. 10.0.22621.1):
look for SHA-256: ABBD27CC0E01621ED14CB482B4E329D55F7D3DF9A25337D5E8CC7883A3FFBB43

Please also note, that this file is safe to use by checking:

You might need to redo these steps after a Windows update. I have no hope that MS will fix this problem.

This problem can be blamed entirely on the MS side, as I did a fresh "vanilla" install of Win 11 in a VM (without patches) -> WIN+P worked on logon screen. After I did all the latest updates -> broken again. No other program was installed besides Windows 11.
