If I am successful at hooking up my external optical drive, I do not want Windows Media Player to auto-play the CD I insert. I do not see something that says Devices in the Settings. I see Bluetooth & Devices, but there is no Devices listed where supposedly you can shut off Windows Media Player auto-play.

But maybe what I saw about going into Turn Windows Features On or Off and unchecking the box next to Windows Media Player (Legacy) would be all that it would take.

One thing that could be done is reassociate the CD files to a different program. The commercial audio file extension shows as .cda, small files only pointers to the actual music. Another is to find the setting that when a disc is inserted showing what to do such as, play, ask what to do or nothing.

But maybe what I saw about going into Turn Windows Features On or Off and unchecking the box next to Windows Media Player (Legacy) would be all that it would take.
Unchecking WMP (Legacy) will uninstall that Feature from Windows, But that won't block AutoPlay on newly inserted USB drives.

Sometimes uninstalling/disconnecting a device will change the file association, or at least give choices of what is desire to happen.
