Cross_Device_banner.png

This tutorial will show you how to sign in or sign out of Manage Mobile Devices with your Microsoft account in Windows 11.

If you turn on Allow this PC to access your mobile devices, you will be able to link and manage your mobile devices directly from your PC. This link between your Android device and PC provides instant access to your mobile device.

It is required to sign in to Manage Mobile Devices with your Microsoft account before you are able to link (add) and manage your mobile devices from your PC.

Starting with Windows 11 version 24H2, you can now sign out of Manage Mobile Devices if you wanted to stop using Manage Mobile Devices with your Microsoft account on the PC.

Reference:

Here's How:

1 Open Settings (Win+I).

2 Click/tap on Bluetooth & devices on the left side, and click/tap on Mobile devices on the right side. (see screenshot below)

Manage_Mobile_Devices-1.png

3 Click/tap on the Manage devices button. (see screenshot below)

The Manage devices button will be disabled and grayed out if Allow this PC to access your mobile devices is not turned on.

4 Do step 5 (sign in) or step 6 (sign out) below for what you want.

5 Sign in to Manage Mobile Devices

A) Click/tap on Sign in. (see screenshot below)

Manage_Mobile_Devices-3.png

B) Select your Microsoft account, and click/tap on Continue. (see screenshot below)

If your Microsoft account is not listed, then click/tap on Microsoft account under "Use a different account" and click/tap on Continue to sign in with your Microsoft account.

Hello!

I can't complete step 5, for some reason my account under which I logged into my PC is not displayed here, and when I click the "Login" button, something flashes (very quickly, I can't make out what), and I see the login window again.
I checked what system requirements the PC, phone and Windows 11 build must meet - everything matches. What could be the problem?

Hello TELiNDUS, and welcome. :alien:

Which build are you currently running?

On build 27728 (Canary), I can't even open "Manage devices" with it crashing and closing shortly after.

Possibly a bug for now.

Also, what's strange is that I can use the Phone Line (sms, photos, applications, calls, and instant hotspot), but I can't go into mobile device management and enable the use of the phone's camera and other functions. For some reason, it doesn't see my account (even though I log in to my PC using a Microsoft account).

That would indeed be normal when you sign in to Windows with the same account.

Are you able to sign out of "Manage mobile devices" to then try and sign in with this Microsoft account?

So I can't log in, as you can see in the screenshot, my account is not displayed at all. As if I'm sitting under a local account. But how the login button works I wrote above - some window blinks and that's it.

Appears to be a bug in this build for now. :(

I haven't seen any regional restrictions yet.

It seems to be the latest update. The only thing left is the transition to 24H2. But I don't know when it will happen. Or maybe it's because of some settings? I just have the OEM version from the PC manufacturer, and I've already encountered the situation where, for example, I tried to change a parameter and it turned out that it was prohibited in the group policy and I had to search for and allow these functions in it.

I contacted the support chat, if the error is in the build, they should record it. But for some reason the operator said that "mobile device management" is an MDM service - and only organizations can deploy it on their servers, and if I have a personal account, it will never work. I even gave him links to the Microsoft website where these functions are described - he says he can't read them. Can anyone tell me how to check that these are not some problems with my system?

Sounds like the support chat doesn't know anything about this feature. They could have used Google Translate.

Send feedback directly to Microsoft via the Feedback Hub app instead about this bug/issue you're having.

They wrote that this function is only available in insider builds, and even if I update Windows to version 24H2, everything will not work. They promised that next month they will add this function in the update. But now it is "floating" for some it can be enabled, and for others it does not work.

They wrote that this function is only available in insider builds, and even if I update Windows to version 24H2, everything will not work. They promised that next month they will add this function in the update. But now it is "floating" for some it can be enabled, and for others it does not work.
The "Manage mobile devices" is available in 24H2, and works fine for me.

I can only confirm it's buggy in the current Canary build though.

That is, if I update the ISO image to 24H2 (it seems to be build 1742). Will this function work for me?

Actually, Microsoft just updated the ISO to 26100.2300 (24H2) via the Media Creation Tool (MCT). The feature works for me in that build.

Hmm...
I tried it - Media Creator Tool - offers the "English" version, "Windows 11". It turns out that the OEM license at the PC factory gave me the English version, and I use the "Russian" system language. But if you install Russian right away, you won't be able to update the system, only install a clean system. But if you leave the "English" version, you can just update.
I understand that I have no choice, and I need to install "English", otherwise the license will fly off the PC? And I don't really want to install and configure everything again.

I don't blame you. I wouldn't want to start from scratch either.

The license will still be there for activation, but if it's not the same language as currently installed, it may not keep anything.

in fact, I consult with you.
You are the first to approach my problem professionally and adequately.
Even Microsoft technical support is strange, they themselves do not know what and how it works. I gave them access to the PC, so they mainly checked the activation of Windows and Office. Although what is there to check if it is an OEM delivery together with the PC?
Except that they said that this function will appear next month. Although it is strange, it seems that they are now updating everyone to version 24, and here is some kind of cumulative update.

Sorry for the question. I saw that you have a Copilot+ laptop = does everything work on it in version 24 or is everything fine in the regular build too? And are they in your insider program or not?

This feature does work on the Copilot+ PC with 24H2. It should work on any latest 24H2 PC though.
