Accounts Sign in to Windows 11

This tutorial will show you how to sign in to Windows 11 with your account.

Having different accounts on a shared PC lets multiple people use the same device, all while giving everyone their own sign-in info, plus access to their own files, browser favorites, and desktop settings.

You can add a local user account (an offline account) or Microsoft account for a user to sign in to the PC with.

When a user signs in to Windows, the system loads their profile. Because each user has a unique user account, this allows multiple users to share a computer. When a user signs in, the desktop settings, files, favorites, and history they see are theirs; they cannot be accessed by other users. When that user signs out, their profile is preserved for the next time that they sign in.

Here's How:

1 Turn on your Windows 11 device.

2 If you have secure sign-in enabled, you will need to press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys to unlock and dismiss the lock screen. (see screenshot below)


3 If you have Windows Hello facial recognition set up for your account, Windows will automatically look for you to sign in with your face. If Windows Hello successfully recognizes your face, you will need to dismiss the lock screen using one of the following actions below to automatically sign in. (see screenshot below)

If you turned on Automatically dismiss the lock screen if Windows Hello recognizes your face, you will automatically be signed in when Windows successfully recognizes your face instead of having to dismiss the lock screen.

• Click on the lock screen.
• Press any key on the keyboard while on the lock screen.
• Swipe up on the lock screen if a touch screen.

4 If you do not have Windows Hello facial recognition set up for your account, you will need to perform one of the following actions to dismiss the lock screen: (see screenshot below)

• Click on the lock screen.
• Press any key on the keyboard while on the lock screen.
• Swipe up on the lock screen if a touch screen.

5 If you have more than one account on the computer, click/tap on the account name (ex: "Brink") you want to sign in to Windows with. (see screenshot below)


6 If you want to sign in to your account with a different sign-in option than the current default sign-in option (ex: "PIN"), click/tap on the Sign-in options link, and click/tap on an available sign-in option you want to sign in with. (see screenshots below)


7 Provide the needed credentials or action for the sign-in option you selected to sign-in to Windows 11. (see screenshots below)

This sign-in option will not be available if you turned on For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device.
