Hi,

What would be the simplest way to install it on my laptop running W11 Pro, now.

Hoping to hear back from you experts.

Thanks.

PS: In my earlier thread the experts had different opinion that confused me.....

Yes, but WHP is part of Windows and not VMWare. VMWare uses that API now instead if you have Hyper-V enabled.

@x BlueRobot , simply what should be my settings for 11 and VM player....?

Hyper-V unchecked on11 and WHP checked during install, does that feel fine?

Thanks.

Added:

Or it can be vice versa, IF Hyper-V is checked on W11, than none requirements for WHP to be checked.....Correct?

Keep you posted, when I install after work.

It implies that that there isn't any conflict, if W11 Hyper V is enabled and VMWare's WHP is checked....correct?

Thanks.
As I said in your other post and I even added an image of installing Win 7 with Hyper-V on.

Anyway, you might find this info useful if you want to install Windows on it and find that VMWare tools is greyed out for some reason. You'll need it to get full screen. I would bookmark the site just in case.

I have explained to you before that type 2 hypervisors like vmware do not play well with the Windows type 1 hypervisor enabled!

VMWare is no different to Virtualbox 7.

VMWare (and VB7) will work with the type 1 hypervisor enabled, but there is a significant performance reduction.

Far better turning off the type 1 hypervisor with a separate dual boot bcd entry as I showed you before.

How many more times do we have to explain this to you?

Hi,

1. Installed VMWare player with WHP checked.
2. Enabled Pros Hyper-V components.
3. In BIOS virtualization is enabled by default.
4. Experimented to run without Hyper-V , it does, (wasn't really a need to upgrade, but none issues).
5. Allocated 100 GB of space and 8 gigs of memory.

Issues:

1. Performed a check by running W11 Multi iso, went ok till 11 key, after gave an error that your machine doesn't support the OS?
2. Response to external keyboard/mouse is erratic., mostly need to work with buttons of the ext. KB.
3. Don't see virtualization enabled in Task Manager?
4. Each time asking for Ctrl +G, Ctrl +Alt?
5. On load up of the iso, get the BIOS type screen, with many options?
6. I assumed, that now any iso would run flawlessly?
7. In TM see 2 extra Ethernet for Virtual machine, is that normal?
8. Should Hyper-V be unchecked?
9. Where would be the location of VMWare's files?

Hoping to hear back from the experts,

Thanks.

PS: Background processes are approx. around +90 and Windows approx. +100.

It's not a dual boot machine.

Well you still failed to listen to me, and I wonder if you really understand things.

1. performed a check by running W11 Multi iso, went ok till 11 key, after gave an error that your machine doesn't support the OS?
TPM is not in free edition by default
2. Response to external keyboard/mouse is erratic., mostly need to work with buttons of the ext. KB.
need to install additional tools
3. Don't see virtualization enabled in Task Manager?
ok
4. Each time asking for Ctrl +G, Ctrl +Alt?
see item 2
5. On load up of the iso, get the BIOS type screen, with many options?
No idea what you have done wrong
6. I assumed, that now any iso would run flawlessly?
Depends if it needs access to certain (particularly) graphics features not in vmware graphics emulators
7. In TM see 2 extra Ethernet for Virtual machine, is that normal?
not sure
8. Should Hyper-V be unchecked?
If you do not need hyper-v then leave unchecked.
9. Where would be the location of VMWare's files?
wherever you like - I use a separate drive as these can get very large.

For the Nth time of telling you, it is better to run vmware in native mode with the hypervisor switched off using bcd edit method!

Running in compatibility mode severely limits performance. Depending on pc, it can be very slow.

You can bypass the requirements for TPM using the following: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/86207
The method I linked earlier does not bypass TPM, but adds support for a virtual TPM.

It is identical to the first option 3 A.

The vmx file is just a text file - edit in notepad and add text at end.

Code:
managedvm.autoAddVTPM = "software"
