I don't like the complicated multi-tab Notepad in Windows 11. How can I use the simple version as in Windows 10?

I turned off the new notepad. Open old version, save file but the file still opens with the new version.

I turned off the new version of notepad in settings, but when I create and save a doc in the old version it still opens in the new app. Is there a way to delete the new version entirely so that the system stops defaulting to it?

Didn't think I'd ever say this, but..., I actually like the UWP Notepad!

I just wish they'd get rid of the gutdim Settings/Menu mouse hover tips on all UWP Apps!!!
Drives me nuts!!!

Thanks. Method 1: Disable the Notepad App execution alias worked for me.

At first, you think wtf but after you have used it several times, it grows on you.

I find the opposite now when I use work pc (Windows 10) and mentally kick the pc as single tab notepad feels so last decade (or two) now.

Hello Steve, you can select to open in a new window instead of a new tab inside the settings of the app, that's all, nothing else required.

It is pretty snappy! I like that fact that it saves documents even when they're not yet Saved.
I can do without the Mica Title Bar, but that's minor.
