Yeah when my brain gets going I forget to eat, sleep, pretty much everything other than what I'm doing.
While thats the price I pay, I also like to think I do some good work.

This update was a pain lol
While having it save the sizable windows in the program, size and position, I also had to take into account people with multiple monitors, what to do if the windows opens off screen and to detect it and bring it back and so on.

But I got it working! Hopefully I will be able to take a little break from the updates and finally get a help file made.

v2.5.1
The program now remembers the size and position of all resizable windows and if it was maximized or not.

Moved image controls the program uses to an ocx file, making the main program faster.

Improved memory usage, program can now handle over 5 million files (In scan results) before hitting memory limits.

More code changes and improvements.

Man this update took a lot out of me! So many changes.
In the last 5 days since the last updates I pulled two 36 hours long programming sessions lol I have to stop myself from getting so hyper focused, I turn 46 this month, my body doesn't handle it like it use to.

Here is the new update! Please report any feedback that my sleep deprived, burning eyes might have missed.

v2.6.0 - June 10th, 2025 - SirCleaner 2025 Free/Pro (v2.6.0)

Huge number of code changes, bug fixes and speed improvements. Too many to list, but here is some of them.

Program now offers to close browsers if they are running when doing a scan.

Made the default size of the main window of the program smaller to better fit on high DPI systems.

Fixed bug where compact databases were not being called.

All buttons with text now have keyboard shortcuts. which is ALT + the letter that is underlined on the button.

Added option to not show splash screen

Added option to not remember window sizes & positions

Updated cleaner and redid browser cookies, indexed database is part of cookies, this has been updated.

Added checkbox in the column header on the view all items screen of the cleaner. Things checked are what will be deleted, now you can check or uncheck everything in the list with one click. This was also added to the failed to delete window.

On all lists with checkboxes, when you multiselect items you can hit the enter key to check or uncheck all selected items.

Added Yandex browser to the cleaner.

Reduced internal memory usage.

Always be extremely careful using Registry Cleaners (which this is per se) as eventually they all ‘clean’ too thoroughly and the system starts crashing.

That was a great update, but you can't sustain those long programming sessions. Try to pace yourself, Shane. We all want to see SirCleaner improve and thrive, but not at the expense of killing yourself in the process! Also, remember, you have a wife and children who need at least a piece of you!

I admire your passion and commitment, but I would advise finding a work/life balance that works for you.

And, no, I am not a psychologist, and I don't know your details, but common sense suggests that you are currently going at SirCleaner too hard to be healthy. I have only been been a Pro customer for over two weeks! The number of updates and improvements has been staggering.

I wish you every success, but stay healthy and happy, first of all!

SirCleaner isnt a registry cleaner

Doesn't touch a single registry key.

Yeah I've put a lot into it lately.

Still more to come, but I need to stop these 36 hour long programming sessions, its just once my mind gets going it doesn't turn off lol

I truly care about the program and users feedback.

SirCleaner cleans files, not the registry. Also doesn't store anything in the registry as well. Fully portable, thats why the dll and ocx files it uses is stored in its manifest file so the files do dont need to be registered in the registry

Not sure where the program states it is a "Registery Cleaner", pretty sure it states "PC Drive Cleaner"
Whilst I only use the free version (currently can not afford to buy full version) I have NOT had or found any issues, especially within the registry.
In fact, the program has been extremely effective and efficient on my PC.
Whilst it is everyone's right to question, when a developer with NO complaints mentioned to date, states "SirCleaner cleans files, not the registry." I for one will take his word.

I should make a correction, the program does touch 1 registry key.
The move delete or rename files tool stores what needs to be deleted, moved or renamed in the PendingFileRenameOperations key, which is what tells windows needs done with those files at boot.

Which the API movefile does that.

Then the registry compact tool doesnt touch a single key either, the registry is a database and can become bloated. That tool calls the windows api to save the registry to new files and all the bloat is gone. Just like with any database, but again not a single key is removed or touched. Just a database reindex. Microsoft even has a page on how to do it manually.

So those are the only things that touch the registry.

Nice app, quick too!
However , nothing personal, but I can live without the app theme colors (the ones you can choose also) if you can add an option to follow the current system theme colors that would be cake!

You can choose any color, when you click on a color click on more colors, the it will show two tabs, standad and custom. Custom os where you have full control.

While I do have color presets, I love the idea of pulling system colors. I will look into it and see whats possible to pull. Windows jas colors for different types of forms used in programming.
But I want to be able to pull the system colors that explorer and the system it uses.

All these drive cleaners work via the registry. As a Microsoft MVP in computer safety the first thing I would warn people against was anything that promised to speed up things by cleaningn anything. However maybe things have imroved over the years. Let us hope so.
