I have never seen a method of doing that but you can make a normal 'icon-sized' desktop shortcut to use instead.
I call mine
Show desktop but the name is not important, you can choose whatever you want.
Give the shortcut the path
%windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{3080F90D-D7AD-11D9-BD98-0000947B0257}
Then right-click on it & select
Pin to taskbar.
I dragged mine to the left-hand end of my Taskbar.
