Hi, could someone please refresh my memory on how to skip an update? Specifically, I'm trying to skip this:
2024-04 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5036620)

It is queued to install. I installed it before, and it caused system errors (green screens). I removed it, but it keeps turning up like a bad penny.

I knew I can turn off automatic updates, but that's not quite what I'm looking for, Josey. Thanks, though.

I'm trying to see if there's a way to skip it. I thought it would skip if we uninstalled the update, but I was mistaken.

Use WuMgr portable. Check for updates. Check the box to that one and select “hide”. Then use windows and scan for updates again (pause and resume). Desired update will not show

Has the Insiders been checked for others with the problem? I'm not seeing any issues with it on my RTM versions since installing on 4/9/2024.

Now I only have to figure out how to get it on my system. I'm on GitHub, but I'm not used to using it.

I know that but I just did a Repair install this morning and that is where it was located, to skip it you just do not open it or turn it off. It only was a security update anyway.

You obviously skipped the most important instruction of all concerning MS Updates. Here it is:

"Turn the d*** thing OFF". And, it's just so darn simple! Do I really need to go into that again?
That simple instruction will solve all the myriad assortment of update problems.
I can see no need to go any further here.
