Solved Snap not snapping

Hovering over a window's maximize icon no longer shows the choice of layouts (Snap), clicking still maximizes.

I've tried disabling and enabling Snap in the settings and applying the registry edits from other threads on the forum, but no Snap joy.
I've even tries resetting Windows. I'm guessing it's a recent Windows update or driver update.

Since upgrading to 11 Snap is the one change since 10 that I really like. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm on 22000.376 and it's working. I've got a couple of pending updates. I'll go apply them and report back to let you know if snap breaks.

Yep. That put me on 22000.434 but snap is still working. Have you restarted your computer since it quit working? Try opening an administrative command prompt and run sfc /scannow to make sure all your OS files are in order.

If you have a backup from before it quit working you might restore it. Otherwise, I would suggest running DISM to repair the component store.

No errors from those scans. I did try all of my of System Restores, before I reset Windows, but they failed to complete

Let me give a a piece of advice that will serve you well in the future. DO NOT depend on system restore. System restore has been iffy, and most time downright useless since Windows 10 came out. Setup some kind of backup solution. According to your specs you have 7 hard drives in your system, so I am speechless that you do not have some sort of backup solution already in place. I don't know how you have all these drives configured, but I am assuming one of them is just the operating system and apps. You can backup to one of these other drives or to external media. Download the free Macrium Reflect (or any backup software of your choosing), and use it regularly. I promise this will save your bacon at some point. I cannot stress this enough.

If you have already done a reset and a Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, you have only 2 options left. You can first try a repair install (also known as inplace upgrade) Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial This retains your account, applications, and files. Otherwise, you can completely wipe your drive with a clean install. Clean Install Windows 11 Tutorial If you go with a repair install, disable Bitdefender first.

FIXED! To fix a problem with X-Rite i1Studio software (for ColorMonkey screen calibration tool), I uninstalled my monitors using the Device Manager then reinstalled i!Studio, Snap is back! I'm assuming it was either the driver for 1iStudeo or the driver for the monitors that was the culprit, but who knows?

Great! Good troubleshooting on your part. The more we learn about 11, the more we're seeing 3rd party stuff interfering with the GUI. Thank you for posting what fixed it for you.
