So a fishy software purchase has a Happy ending after all (So Far...)

In 2016 I purchased a software called Sim Aquarium Platinum at $49.00 US for the Lifetime Version with 4 Keys however after about 6 months after a new version of Windows 10 came out the "Live Desktop" feature of the software quit working but the "Screensaver" still worked.

So about 2 years ago I uninstalled the software as up until then I had checked periodically for any new updates available but there were no new updates available to fix the compatibility issues with newer versions of windows and basically there is no dedicated support for the software.

Out of curiosity after checking for a new version today and after 8+ years of waiting for an update I am totally amazed a new version was finally available that also works on Windows 11 and I have my Live Desktop back which was the reason I wanted the software in the first place.

Now I am glad I kept my purchase order info and Keys which thankfully still activate (Crosses Fingers)

However in hindsight I would not recommend purchasing this software if you have to wait 8+ years for an update.

Looks nice, but I’ll never understand Desktops. Like who see’s them?

I set my son up with 4 monitors. He has live desktops from some company running all the time. A huge amount of resources..
His monitors always have apps or games running full screen on every monitor. He can never see any of his desktops.

I don’t get it … me old.

It's just every once in awhile I enjoy watching the Aquarium and fish for a few minutes and since I don't own a real Aquarium or want one this option is a lot cheaper and I can still do other tasks while in the "Live Desktop" running which is perfect for listening to music or CD's.

However in hindsight if you have to wait 8+ years for an update I would not recommend purchasing this software.

If you’ve never owned a real aquarium, you don’t know the trouble you’re saving yourself. The cleaning… the horror… the horror

We had an eight foot long aquarium in a share house when I was a teenager. We actually bribed each other with decent money when it was our turn to clean it.

They are however, therapeutic.

Two of my brothers have owned Aquariums a yes they are a pain and the Fish didn't live long I also forgot to add Firefox is using more memory than Sim Aquarium but more CPU useage.
