Some system fonts very tiny when separating from large monitor

I switch between my laptop and a large monitor. When I unplug from the large monitor to use my laptop alone, most fonts show fine (e.g., this typing I'm doing), but the SOME fonts are very tiny. Please see the attached.

Is there a way to prevent this?

I do not extend my desktop to another monitor, but it would seem to me, you should first and foremost disconnect the monitor and adjust your settings so that everything appears as it should using only the native resolution of your laptop. There are many things that affect the appearance of fonts and icons. Resolution, Scale, text size, advanced display settings, themes, the system font, independent setting within apps (especially browsers), hard coded apps whose appearance can not be changed at all, and graphics card settings.

Once the laptop alone displays correctly, then you can troubleshoot any problems when you connect to the monitor. Once the monitor is in the picture, it's own settings come into play. As an example, my monitor has it's own settings where I can make even more adjustments to the appearance outside of Windows.

I was just looking at that screenshot further. Does that post-it note mean you are running BOTH startallback and start 11? I think only one app that alters the GUI should be run at a time. It would seem to me running two would give surprising results.

Thanks. I disconnected from the external monitor and had the same issue.

Re the postit, it was just a note to try them startallback and start 11 later--I'd previously installed them each (separately and not at the same time).

Unable to find any fixes, the only thing that worked for me was to do a restore to an earlier restore point (from the day before).
