For watching movies the stock arent that loud, otherwise as a daily driver work great.

Only thing I look for in speakers for Notebooks is that they have their own amplifier with volume control, does mean they are self-powered. For travel I keep headphones or earbuds in the case.

They are a tad bit of an overkill but honestly,, they're well worth it.

I'd enjoy the overkill while watching a movie after work........

Thanks again!

They've been available for years.

I think they remain the most cost-effective 2.1 setup on the market.

They commonly have been available at Costco for a good price, but I don't see them on the website now.

You can never go wrong with Harman Kardon, pony up the money, and get their best, and biggest subwoofer.

Actually, I have two, in tandem.

I'd rather listen to music in my office, than in my entertainment room, with a 6 speaker surround, 2k watt receiver/amplifier, and an AK'ing killer sub, slammed against the wall. Seriously. Sure, it will knock the windows out. But that's not really my thing.

Of course, quality depends upon your sound card.

...you get, what you pay for.

That's what I have. They're great speakers.
My wife has those same speakers on her desktop at home and they are great.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
May I deviate a little bit?
Along with some reasonable speakers, a good DSP will make a huge difference to your sound.

FxSound (Formerly DFX) makes an amazing difference to sound output.

I don't like the new version as much, even though they have recently made it free.
I can't get the new version to sound like previous versions.

If you really want the better sounding version, look for version 13.028 or any earlier version.
