Since an update I don't know which one. WHEN I close my computer by just lowering the screen my laptop no longer goes to sleep like before, it goes to sleep but when I open it it's as if it had just started, I have the windows 11 logo which appears as at startup with the button to connect to my session etc... is there a solution? THANKS

It may still Hibernate after a certain period of time.
Set it to Do nothing, a possible hinge switch might turn off the screen only.

1 I have not seen that option before. I have only seen: do nothing, sleep, hibernate, shutdown.
And if it was set to turn off the screen only then why do you say it used to sleep it?
I am concerned that we are talking at cross-purposes.

2 And please post the response to this command [cmd or PS window, it doesn't matter] so your available power-sleep states are known.

That response might say that you have S0 Low power idle [S0 Modern standby].

3 I'd also like to check your other power plan settings - Display off after, Sleep after, Hibernate after.

4 I expect to suggest that you test behaviour

in Safe mode
in another user account

so please tell me if you have already tried them.

5 Personally, I would go ahead and reinstall my display driver even if it is the same version as the one currently installed.
There is no diagnostic test for a corrupted display driver so I just reinstall it if there is a related problem [such as sleep misbehaviour] just to eliminate it as a possible cause. Your computer maker should provide a display driver for download & install.

Considering the thousands of complaints I've read, on the internet, over the years concerning either sleep or hibernate, I'm just so thankful that both are permanently disabled on all of my own PC's. Frankly, I don't see the need for either one.

Computers are "electrical appliances" and like most appliances, they should have an ON-OFF switch. The original PC's and AT's did! "The Big Red Switch". If the OS or some program got totally fritzled, the Big Red Switch solved the problem.

Ever since the PC/AT days (DOS was the OS of the day) all my PC's have had two basic states.... ON or OFF.
On is easy. I just apply power to the PC via a Power Strip, and the PC, monitor and printer all come on by themselves.
Off is accomplished by clicking on the "Shutdown" shortcut on my task bar. It takes 5 sec's for Windows to shut down and then I turn off the Big Red Switch, on the power strip.
Life is just so much more enjoyable, when you take the aggravating factors, like sleep and hibernate, out of it.

Finally you were right, I put in the 3rd option (do nothing when I close the hood) and the problem is solved.
the screen turns off and when I open it turns on directly.

Do you have any problems when you manually sleep or hibernate it through, for example, the Start menu, Power section?
