Interesting you should say that cos I'm doing a 1 month trial; and and it uses a lot of CPU and an 'internet speedtest' strangely gives a low result. I had (Steam) Wallpaper Engine on Windows 10 which was great but it doesn't work on W11. I wasn't gonna pay for the permanent Deskscapes after the trial. I'll re-look at it after your post. Thanks.

DeskScapes desktop icons overlays double up and it is a disaster on more than one display.
Wallpaper engine works fine for me on 24H2.
Steam is a memory hog though and I leave that disabled and only enable it to change background.

Interesting OAT. I'm having another go with Wallpaper Engine since reading your comment.

I have an older version v1.4.173 which worked perfectly on Windows 10. I installed it a long time ago and am (obviously) doing something wrong now with Windows 11.

When I run wallpaper64.exe, nothing appears on the screen but there is an icon in the System Tray. (Same with wallpaper32.exe). When I open it, select a wallpaper and press OK, it minimizes but nothing appears on the desktop. There is something fundamentally wrong that I'm missing here. What do you reckon ??

I would stop & disable the wallpaper32/64.exe that may be running.
Uninstall wallpaper engine, reboot. Reinstall via Steam.
I have WallPaper Engine on both Dev & Canary builds and they run without issues.
I see you have not filled out your specs in your profile, so it's hard to tell if your system is up to par.
