I just got the new start menu too. I'm not sure what I prefer, but I changed view from Category to Grid.
I don't know how the Category view got arranged, but it's not very accurate on my computer.

I don't have this registry key, although I have the new start menu. I don't know about the ViveTool override.

i have had the new start menu for several weeks and i prefer it to the old one
there are 24 pinned items and the menu is set to grid view

my wife's system got the new start menu with the Tuesday update
i have set that system start menu the same, pinned and grid view.

Grid view is very easy to navigate. It's almost like the left side of the Windows 10 start menu, only bigger.

I still prefer the Start11 menu options. Seven menu styles with many customizations. And it even gives you the option of displaying the Windows 11 start menu.

I also just got the new Start menu, using the "Windhawk" app which brings the menu back to how it was before the update

The pinned items are just a mess to try and find something quickly and easily. You can either show less or show all. But it still doesn't make navigating any easier. The only thing to do is to manually sort them alphabetically.

Do you mean, right click > "Create a new app folder" then add items into it?

Edit: Look at all the options in Start11? It's super configurable. I also have the option set to display both the Windows menu and the Start11 menu. So, I usually use the Start11 menu. But it would be nice to have the Windows menu is some sort of tidy and usable order.

I was referring to the pinned items at the top of the menu.

The main part of the start menu where you have Category view set is okay. I have mine set to Grid, which is a little bit like the Windows 10 start menu.
