Is there a setting to prevent videos from playing automatically in Edge?
When reading the news on MSN, every page you go to has videos (often not related to the news story) that start playing as you scroll down the page.
I find this very distracting and a waste of bandwidth.
You have to stop them manually, often losing focus on the article you are reading.
I have yet to find a setting in Edge to turn this function off.

Hello @Brink, on Edge Win 11 you need to go to edge://flags- Autoplay and enable it to block rather than just limit.

Correct. That's included in the steps. :-)

  • Block = The block option is not available by default unless added as an expermental feature. Media that plays sound will be blocked from automatically playing. Changes will only be applied to new tabs.

I'm starting to think the secret sauce here is that "Media that plays sound will be blocked from automatically playing."
MSN videos all have the sound turned off by default. :sneaky:
