In the nVidia world, probably an RTX 3060 or RTX 3060 ti. Neither is exactly equivalent to a 1080. The 3060 may be slightly less in perfromance, the 3060 to significantly better.

If AMD is an option for you, an RX 6600 XT looks comparable to a GTX 1080.

It wasn't overclocked, it just stopped working after being away for an extended period and not using it.
