Or even the RX 5700 is comparable to the GTX 1080 in performance..The GTX 1080 cards vary in their PCI-E auxiliary power requirements. Some take a single 8 pin, some add a 6 pin. How about yours?
In the nVidia world, probably an RTX 3060 or RTX 3060 ti. Neither is exactly equivalent to a 1080. The 3060 may be slightly less in perfromance, the 3060 to significantly better.
If AMD is an option for you, an RX 6600 XT looks comparable to a GTX 1080.
