I have a new MS Surface Pro 11. It is only 3 weeks old. I connect to the wifi/internet with no problem. The computer works fine except after a random period of time, Windows will "loose connection", "cannot find ip". The computer is still connected to the wifi and there is internet but the laptop cannot find the ip.

The only way to fix the problem is to restart the computer. I have spent hours on the phone with MS Support. Run all troubleshooting suggestions. Tried, reinstalling Windows. Still has the issue of not being able to connect. All other laptops on same wifi do not have problems. I am at a loss for how to fix. MS Support does not have a clue.

Would appreciate any assistance.

Welcome to the forum. I know nothing about a Surface but out of curiosity did you or MS consider that the wireless adapter itself might be flakey? Or just as easily and much worse, some sort of interference between the motherboard and the wireless adapter.

It can easily be proven. You can buy a usb wireless adapter for less than $10. Disable you current wireless adapter in device manager. Plug in the usb wireless, connect to your network,. If it holds connection, it proves 2 things; you don't have a problem in Windows and your network is stable (which you already know) It would then point to an issue with your current wireless adapter and/or mobo.

That be the case make MS fix it under warranty.

I have this one in 3 of my systems. Amazon.com
