Hey everyone,

I have a Lenovo laptop plugged into a j5 Create hub, with HDMI going to my receiver which does 7.1 surround sound. Sometimes when I put my laptop to sleep or turn it off I will lose the option for surround as shown in the image below. I don't exactly how to get it back I just unplug and plug things in and restart until it works again. I don't know if this is a windows issue or a driver issue, but i hope someone can help. I will leave a picture of the drivers that are installed on the sound device.

I would advise you to update Windows to 23H2 and then update the AMD drivers for your video card (they include the HDMI audio drivers).

If Windows Update does not offer the update to 23H2, then download the Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft. Open the ISO using File Explorer and then run setup.exe on the ISO.

That will do a Repair Install of Windows and it will upgrade you to 23H2 at the same time.

With a little luck, that should solve your issue.

You can also open Settings > System > Sound and disable all other options, so that only 7.1 is selected.

If the 7.1 option is greyed out, then the other settings are probably not present in settings.

Can you unplug the laptop from the J5 Create hub and does the option return after rebooting?
