Solved Switch to Local Account Question

I want to switch my wife's laptop from my MS Account to a Local account and can't find the option when I look in Accounts. Where or how do I sign her out? I noticed this morning that files I deleted from my OneDrive was in her Recycle Bin.

Right click on start. Shutdown or Signout.

Doesn't that just take you to the Sign-In screen? I did find it in setting though.

On her PC: Settings > Accounts > Your Info > sign in with a Local Account instead. That should do it.

I found it. I had to click on Stop Signing In to All Microsoft Apps Automatically. Now it show she using a local account.

@Brink When i checked on her computer that option wasn't there. She was still on build 22H2 so upgraded to 23H2 and I still didn't see the option. I got her signed out by clicking on Stop Signing In To All Microsoft Apps Automatically.

I don't remember how I did it but she was signed-in with her name and my email address. She doesn't do email or texting. She doesn't even use her cell phone unless it's an emergency.

It could have happened if signing into any app.

That's ok. She still can, but be sure to click on the "Microsoft apps only" link instead of "Next" for everywhere like below.

A) Do these processes work on Win11 OEM Home also (?) don't know what Build or Update yet since it's a new purchase.

B) Also will they get me Option 1 or 2 below
1. set up using MS account, then create a new local account with administrative privileges. Restart. Login to the new account and delete the MS account.

2. Change MS account to local account settings>accounts>your info>signin with a local account instead.

I read Option 1 is preferable if you want your local user folders default location to be on your drive under your new account name and to not have any association with Onedrive..

Not sure what you're wanting to do, but you should be able to set up a local account during Windows Setup if you don't want to use a Microsoft account.

You can use any of what you posted though.

I use my computer - and my mom uses her computer - for things where security matters - in my case, it is messaaging - in my Mom's case, it is her taxes - Microsoft accounts let both be done securely - including on phones. I even use Word for Android as a text editor - I write/edit fanfiction - and while my desktop was out of action, I used Word for Android. Office for Android is cross-compatible with Word for Windows - and Word for iOS/Mac - that matters.

Thanks Brink, apologize for the ambiguity in my post. I was somewhat overwhelmed with continuing new MS barriers to stop folks trying to avoid the forced MS Acct login.
I was apprehensive therein if Win11 Home would work the same as Win11 Pro. There were a few logistical hoops but fortunately glasskuter's Option 1 worked for me allowing me to create a new local admin user, sign out of the MS acct, and delete the MS Acct.
If my posts were off topic and deter from the content of this thread, then please delete my posts. And thanks again to all the help from this forum.
