The backup software I'm looking at using Aomei Backupper professional will do full image backups locally but not to Onedrive for business although I believe it'll Sync to there .... so if I do the local backup 1st to my NAS and then to get a copy off site use it to Sync a copy to the Cloud, is there any downside / reason not to and should it work as I'm hoping?

I do not know about onedrive for business but I regularly make image backups to my local drive then copy image to my consumer onedrive folders, and image syncs to onedrive.

An image backup is simply a file, and syncing a copy should be no different to any other file.

One thing to look out for is if the onedrive for business has a maximum file size and if image exceeds that. If so, you may need to create an image broken into several files. Most backup tools have such a feature.
