Hello,

I'm opening this thread not to interfere with the Custom Folder Icons one.
I have a bunch of fluent system app icons available here, but not all of them at the moment.
I don't know where all of them are stored. I guess most of them are directly part of the app they belong.
The link (from the main title and picture) will be regularly be updated.

Any help to provide their location paths as well as the icon files themselves is highly appreciated.

Custom App icons can also be shared here.

I started fiddling a bit with updating old Windows 10 style icons to fit the 11 edition.
Here are a few today, more reworked versions in progress.

Hey TizianoMad, I love your system resources icons. but since you've made it, I hope if you could do those icons down below.
A light blue cloud with a red dictionary book next to it.A regular red dictionary book in low-quality.A regular lit-up light bulb in low-quality.A light blue cloud in low-quality.
Since you've never heard of these icons, then you should turn those into Windows 11 icons. (So, what icon maker software did you use?)

Thank you EpicB for your kind words.

It seems you are much more advanced than me in designing and handling pro apps.

I'm only a beginner in the field, using small and limited app, such as IcoFX, and more lately Paint.NET.

I'll take time to study Adobe apps in the near future.
But at the moment, I'm trying to finish as much as possible ones that can be update with already existing ones.

We can use PM to deal with all the boring details, surely there's still plenty to do with these remakes.
You should soon receive an invitation for joining the group where we are discussing aspects with @LEXX911.

Edit :
By the way, I'm remaking the "Cut" icon at the moment just to make it slightly bigger (it was a bit slim in small sizes), and I hadn't finished the "Folder Copy" one !
Apologies.

In a cool Windows Insider video, I saw that there's 3 icons which are newer than I expected.IMG_1194.jpg
I decided to remake these icons to make them look like these.

Windows 11 Custom Biometric Devices Icon.png Windows 11 Custom Smart Card Icon.png Windows 11 Updated Laptop Icon Remake 2022 Update.png

The laptop icon is usually a larger format than any other icons in Windows 11 insider builds.
Although, the biometric device icon should've have been used in the Windows Device Manager but unused.
I also made other icons based off of other file resources, but it looks nice in a special new look.
Windows 11 Custom Keyboard Repeat Delay Icon.png Windows 11 Telephone Icon 2022 Remake.png Windows 11 Earbuds Icon Remake.png Windows 11 Colorized Applications Icon.png
Windows 11 Custom Network Cable Template Icon.png Windows 11 Colorized People Icon.png Windows 11 Desktop Media Server Icon HD Version 2022 Revision.png Windows 11 Custom School Globe Icon - Windows 10 Globe Variant.png

I have all the gradients, texture, and all other stuff that I have done to make these icons but I may have interest in these Windows 11 icons which that I have experienced it so far so I guess that's all of it. I'll make some icons sooner than I think.

Hi @EpicBWin11Fourm,

Thank you for taking part in the "Missing W11 Icons" creations.

It happens that I don't connect some days.
I don't have a real job that's why I have time for computing.
I'm not in an easy situation (considered homeless but living in kind of garage most of the time, no worries), I work part-time as a volunteer in a charity association, and it can happen I'm not free for a few days running.

But what is really making my life difficult at the moment is the high pain I have every day.
I had another tooth extraction over 2 months ago, and exactly like the previous times despite that everything is clean, I still have big pains going on for ages. I'm taking care of it and have tests planned, so it might happens I won't be available at some moments.

It does take me a bit of time to rework icons, but the set I'm preparing is on its way and should be complete by the end of the month at this rate
(unless I discover some more !). But I've been though all the "System Resources" C:/Windows folder and I think I got them all.

By the way, you didn't answer my PM concerning the latest Insider ones you required.
I added some "New System Icons" from it a while ago in the main Mega link :

Monitors & Printers :

    Mouse.png      Mouse + Keyboard.png      Sound.png

     Mouse          Mouse & Keyboard          Sound

Drives & Devices :

    USB.png

      USB

Shell :

    Navigation Pane.png    Preview Pane.png    File Details Pane.png    Preview Pane - Small.png

        Navigation Pane

(Thanks to @paradoxum for providing the latest Insider Resources)

Since Windows 10, it looks like Microsoft feels a bit lost with displaying new icon styles. :
  • The main System Set has kept the same icon type, and were just twisted to make them facing.
  • System Apps icons (thread's screenshot) have new design aspect, with regular (bigger) dimensions, colors and drawing type.
  • UWP icons made for Metro Apps, and getting a special display in the Start Menu ensuring reverted color in Light/Dark mode.
Today, the new W11 S-Resource icons include more and more "System Apps" icon style, but not always :
New Style : "Navigation Pane" added, Home, User account, Libraries,
The 11 Common Style : Mouse, USB, Sound...
Mixing : Drives, Compact discs, Firewall...

Thank you for providing your custom System "Resources" and "Fluent MS App" Icons.

In fact, the new type and some latest ones completely (or nearly) fills the image.
Pity some items pixelate on some of them. Maybe you can fix that by trying linear/bi-linear conversions.

If anyone still have some of these "Old/New" original Insider icons,
it would be great to have them shared here to include them in this SEO.

Thank you !

Looks good to me but I remade those icons in a usual & (almost) perfect way.
Battery Battery (No power cord) Edge Bar Game Controller (Settings device icon) Gaming (Settings) HDMI cable
Power cord USB cable (Black) USB cable (Purple) USB cable (Blue)Accessibility (Settings HQ).png

idk if it looks kinda bad for me or if its good or not, then I guess it's good.

Oh, I guess you've forgot to put a download link to the new Accessibility icons from a Windows 11 insider build.

Well, I just do as much as I can !
I don't work for Microsoft, even though we are all kind of indirectly working for them. 😁
This thread is pretty young and will carry on being updated as soon as anyone have new icons to add.

.../ I have a bunch of fluent system app icons available here, but not all of them at the moment.
.../ The link (from the main title and picture) will be regularly be updated.

Any help to provide their location paths as well as the icon files themselves is highly appreciated. ...//

Some of them are already available.

"I guess you've forgot" :
.../ you didn't answer my PM concerning the latest Insider ones you required.

I never got a feedback about the latest Insider "SystemResource" folder I forwarded you.
Maybe some more new icons you are interested in have been included.
There are many DLL.mun files to explore.
I only went through the common ones, but will continue when I have time.

You made a great job with the latest icons you posted.
Images don't pixelate much anymore and seem to ensure correct scales.
Well done mate. Will add them to the SEO.

I think there is no secret. The more we work, the better are the results.
Time is all that we need !

Take care,
Cheers

I'm half way through by now, so there are about 30 more icons to be expected.
And thanks to the designer's cool contributions of the forum, we shouldn't see much of the old Windows 10 ones after that.  :ufo:👽

https://streamable.com/cyqw35Sorry to bring up an old question that has probably been answered, but did anyone figure out a way to hide the pin icons on quick access?

1657896787438.pngI've been kinda busy getting dumped, and then working on my new pc build so haven't had an OS running.

Invisible Pin in the Navigation Pane

1655185822.png
and still visible in the Ribbon.  ("Pin to Quick access" button)

[imageres #5100] > download.

If CustomizerGod doesn't work on your build, replace the icon manually.

First you must take ownership of the "imageres.dll.mun" file rights :
(located in C:\Windows\SystemResources)

Take Ownership Manually :
  • Select file, right click and choose [Properties], in the "Security" tab, go to [Advanced].
  • At the top of the new "Advanced Security Settings" window, to the right of "Owner: System", click on [Modify],
then type "users" and press [Enter] key twice, click on [Apply] then [OK].
  • In the "Properties / Security" window, click on the [Edit] button .
  • In the permissions window, and in the names pane, select [Users (computer-name\Users)], then under "Authorize", check the "Total control" box, and finally confirm with [OK].
Owner permissions are now assigned to you.

  • Copy "imageres.dll.mun" in a place where you will edit it with ResourceHacker.
  • Remove ".mun" or add ".res" to the file
  • Run ResourceHacker as administrator.
  • Replace the icon(s) needed in the "Icon Group" section, then save the file.
  • Rename the file extension as the original.

The original "imageres" file will have to be replaced "Windows Offline" because it is running in the processes.
But before replacing it, I place it in a convenient location, just on the Desktop or else at the root of C:\.

Now restart your computer with Windows Offline.

Access Advanced Startup (options) :
  • Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced startup : "Restart now".
  • Hold [Shift] key + [Restart] button.
  • [F8] key at startup (if functional).

In the Options of the advanced startup :

    • Go to Choose other options > Troubleshooting > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    • Wait.
    • Select your [User name] and validate.
    • Enter your password, then confirm. If you do not use a password, validate directly.
    • Wait until the command prompt window opens.
    • Type "Copy [Source File Location] [Destination Folder Location]"
      Copy C:\Users\%userprofile%\Desktop\imageres.dll.mun C:\Windows\SystemResources
  or   Copy C:\imageres.dll.mun C:\Windows\SystemResources
    • Confirm with yes: "y" then [Enter].
    • Enter "exit".
    • Click "Continue" to start Windows normally.
On "some" PCs, after validating any correct command,
the message "the file is not found" appears in return.
     The Solution >>  Replace "C:\" with > "D:\"

On Windows Offline, you can also do many other commands, referenced here.

Please @paradoxum, try and keep the same thread when you make a request.
It's at least the 3rd place where I'm answering you (CustomizerGod Thread & PM).
Giant screenshots can sometime be acceptable when they are directly related to the dedicated topic.
Appended images can be resized in post, and they appear in full original size when posted with clicking on them (+optional zoom available).
You can also edit quotes just to show up the concerned passage(s).
Off topic images can be optionally displayed thanks to the "Spoiler" button, but they are best welcome in PM.
Any topics are public web pages which need to be as clear as possible, for any users searching appropriate solutions.

Thank you for considering. I find that your participation in the forum is quite interesting and useful, no worries my friend.

Using W11 OS on customers' computers more and more often, and sometimes on my mum's new laptop.
I made six new icons this time, they look better than I have ever seen before. (The speaker holes in the audio recorder device icon looks disappointing but it's ok.)
3D Printer.pngAudio Recorder.pngExternal Webcam.png
Photo Slideshow Device.pngPortable Headset.pngXBOX Controller.png
The XBOX controller icon looks almost 100% perfect indeed, based off of a usual gif I found online.
IMG_1289.jpeg
The XBOX controller icon was beveled and shadowed, almost perfectly, which I made for the other icons. But those icons are made with a simple program named Paint.NET, and sometimes made with Paint 3D as well. So, I will make new icons soon till I make more ideas on newer icon projects.
