i've been using windows 11 for about a year. i changed motherboards and now i have another taskbar icon in my tray i would like to get rid of. this was not here on my previous board. it says eject bluetooth. clicking on that does get rid of the icon, but then my bluetooth stops working. i tried uninstalling intel wireless bluetooth in device manager but when i restart my computer it's back. i also tried installing the drivers from my motherboard manufacturer. i know i can turn off windows explorer in taskbar settings but that just changes it to the arrow that i can click on to minimize taskbar icons. anybody know how to get this off my taskbar?Desktop Screenshot 2022.06.04 - 04.45.18.76 (1) (1).png

Settings>Bluetooth & devices>turn Bluetooth off.

I use a Bluetooth mouse on my Vostro 3400 Notebook with Win11 Pro and have the icon in the Notification Area just like in Win10. Left- or Right-clicking it brings up a context menu with Remove icon on the bottom of the list.

none of that worked. it's not the bluetooth icon. when i mouse over it says safely remove hardware and eject media. when i click it takes me to devices and printers. in devices and printers i see a bluetooth USB. but i'm not using a bluetooth USB.

Just to note, the Bluetooth notification icon on the taskbar corner will only show when Bluetooth is turned on.

I think I see the problem now. Your screen shot of the whole desktop was too small for me to see properly and I assumed it was a Bluetooth icon not the safely remove icon. Expanded it and shows the safely remove.

So the problem is that Windows is seeing the Bluetooth card as a USB device. Similar can happen to flash drives showing as Hard drives. Hopefully someone can chip in to fix this issue.
In the mean time try running the system file checker (sfc /scannow) in CMD Admin, and in Devices and printers right click it and run the troubleshooter.

Bluetooth always shows as eject option

My system (Win 11 ver 21H2 build 22000.318) always shows a device ready to eject, just like if I had a USB key plugged in. In this case it is showing Bluetooth ready to eject. My Bluetooth is supported on an Intel WiFi AX210 adapter. Any info on how I can get BT off the eject list.

too bad no fix in that thread. still hoping somebody knows how to get rid of this icon. i read a few threads that said changing something in regedit could get rid of it but that stopped working after updates. i heard the same thing about the volume/network icons.
