Windows 11
Windows 11 version 23H2
The taskbar background suddenly became transparent, Makes it very difficult to see against the wallpaper. The "Transparency Effect" toggle has no effect. Any suggestions?

I hate transparency of any kind, any where, so in Classic Shell I select Opaque instead of Transparent Task Bar.
That also allows me to select the color I want for my Taskbar. Works like a Champ!

Things like this rarely if ever happen spontaneously. What led up to it (new software, update, some change you might have made, etc)?

Hi, Mithrass, welcome to ElevenForums

You could try running a DISM, something may of gotten busted.

You can run the SFC /scannow command from any console, including the command prompt, PowerShell, or Windows Terminal. Open one of these as Admin and type or past that command and press enter, then wait for it to finish.
Then, if it reports problems, run the following command:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

—->

Open search, type CMD. Open CMD as admin. Type (or copy and paste) the following command (or skip this & just run restore health):

Code:
SFC /scannow

Press enter

When completed, type (or copy and paste) the following command and be patient.

Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Press enter and be patient.

Thanks antspants. I hadn't thought of that.
SFC reported finding corrupt files and claimed to have fixed them.
DISM ran successfully, but there was no effect on the problem.

As already mentioned, can you recall any changes you may have made pre this occurring. Do you have any tweaks applied or tweak software running?
