Hi. Changing the taskbar size via the registry does not work. what could be the cause

The registry change no longer works. The only way to increase size of taskbar natively is changing scale which messes everything else up. Though I do not use 3rd party tools myself, Explorerpatcher and Startallback claim to be able to resize the taskbar. Be aware that going forward a windows update may affect the functionality of these tools causing issues within the GUI until the developer updates the tool.

Are you trying for a wider or thinner taskbar? If thinner a little app called RoundedTB does a good job of giving you a more streamlined taskbar. It also works in conjunction with TranslucentTB if you want transparency as well.

You won't find any official statement from MS announcing the registry change from back when it DID work so you certainly won't find one now that MS has closed the door on it.. MS knows folks tweak the registry to work around some things that MS does because they leave the door open for us to do it. Those tweaks are never official announcements. It's not the first tweak they have slammed the door on and it won't be the last. You will find many articles from reputable technical sites (including MS own user forum). Those will have to be enough for you.

That's why I’m looking for links to such sites where this issue is described, because so far, I only know about this problem from my own experience with two devices running Windows 11 24H2, and that’s not enough to determine whether it’s a decision by Microsoft or errors in my system during the update to this version
