With the latest TeamViewer updates, using the free version has become too frustrating (e.g., it automatically drops the connection after a few minutes). I therefore need a new free, reliable, and modern remote management tool. My usage requirements are as follows:
- Windows <-> Windows
- I remotely access the computers of a few acquaintances to provide occasional help
- No automation needed; manual confirmation to establish the connection
- Modern user interface and good UX
- Not overly technical to maintain or manage
Options I found while Googling included:
- Windows own tool (>> not an option)
- RutDesk (>> doesn't inspire confidence due to its past 'Chinese background')
- AnyDesk (>> seems outdated)
- Chrome Remote Desktop (>> too "simple")
What viable alternatives are there?
