ugh, I thought 23h2 latest build would still work with custom themes
cause I was on 24h2 and it wasn't

using UltraUXThemePatcher_4.4.3.exe
Windows 11 23H2 [22631.4830]

should look like that. No themes that round the egdes seem to work. Fresh install then installed theme patcher. Even tried ThemeTool. Am I doing something wrong?

Also any way to stop windows nagging me about 24h2 update?

the original theme is Nord from deviantart.

I modified it after an update to fix some colour issue, but it has worked fine for like 6 months since then.

I don't know anything about themepatcher or any other 3rd party tool, but I use a custom theme I created myself in Windows 7 and it has worked through every version of 11, including 24h2 and including through several clean installs off 11.

you can disable windows updates in many ways, or just set them to notify only so you can choose when to install them. if you only want to disable build upgrades, you can block those via reg too and leave auto updates on. many ways to do that.

unpatch your system. use SecureUXTheme > ThemeTool.exe instead.
Unpatch, Reboot, Run ThemeTool.exe as Admin > Patch, Reboot, Place theme resources in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes folder > Use ThemeTool.exe to choose modified theme.

It seems like the shell/style just isn't being applied.

I was able to get it working at some point, somehow, in 24h2, but never again so I am trying 23h2. THe problem with 24h2 is that CustomizerGod.exe doesn't work so I can't get rid of those annoying pins on the sidebars.

I'm just gonna get the latest 24H2 from UUPDUMP and use the stock white theme. maybe have another look at making your own themes. (last time I could find little info, especailly with regard to the .msstyles files etc, when you search for theming windows you tend to just get websites offering themes to download. And the tools I used were outdated/buggy.

I don't suppose now there might be an easy way for me to just clone the Nord UI for 24H2 myself? Hell if you are able to get it looking like it does in my old screenshot i'll toss you 50 bucks.

IT looks like it might have last been working for sure on september 23 last year. what version would that have likely been based on release dates and the assumption I was using the most recent of whatever version at the time?
