Hello,
I am thinking about using DuckDuckGo as my default browser, if anyone has any negative results I would appreciate it if you replied to my post.

Is it Chrome that tracks me or is it Google search engine?

I used Google as my home page and wondering if do that with DuckDuckGo would be defeating the reason I am wanted to switch to using it?

Thanks in advance

I use DuckDuckGo as my default Search extension on Firefox, not seeing any issues. I've been offered their browser but haven't tried it yet.

Is it Chrome that tracks me or is it Google search engine?
Aren't Google and Chrome conjoined at the hip?

Then there's Edge.
Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are both popular web browsers built on the same Chromium engine, but they differ in features and user experience. Chrome is known for its simplicity and extensive extension library, while Edge offers unique features like vertical tabs and integrated AI tools, making it a strong competitor.

DuckDuckGo is a search engine. I heard awhile back that they made some kind of agreement with Microsoft. I did a search and this is just one of the sites I found. DuckDuckGo browser allows Microsoft trackers due to search agreement
They do have a browser now.

Is it Chrome that tracks me or is it Google search engine?

Yes. Chrome does some tracking on its own, but most browsers do, to some degree. Things like your IP address, your user agent string, installed fonts and screen resolution. If you use the Google search engine, more tracking is possible. If you're signed in to Google while using Google search, it's even worse, in terms of privacy.

One of the many many reasons, I do not like DDG as a company, I use it's search engine out of necessity, but I do not trust them.

Yes I downloaded the DuckDuckGo browser. Trying it out and was wondering if anyone was having issues with the browser not the extension.

I use DDG search engine as well as Bing. None of them are trustworthy IMHO
Thanks for all the replies, I agree and don't trust any browser, I am switching to DuckDuckGo because you can delete all browsing data with one keystroke.
When using Chrome I had to use Ccleaner but Chrome made some updates and now my browsing history is not cleaned when the browser is closed. Ccleaner has to figure out what Chrome changed. So I will use DuckDuckGo and sees what happens.

ON the positive about DDG is Chrome and Firefox made changes so now we can't use Dragon in anything that is open in Chrome. Like this forum for example.... I have to hand type when I used to talk and dragon did the typing.

I can still use Dragon with DDG

I never new that. When I was searching for DuckDuckGo all I saw was it as being a search engine. There was a time that I used DuckDuckGo. But only because they were suppose to more private then the others search engines. When I found out that they made a deal with MS I decided what the heck and went back to using Google. I also use Bing on occasion.

I have no problem with Microsoft telemetry as long as it makes products better and contains none of my personal data.
