Dual-Boot Windows 11 / Ubuntu 20.04.3
I have been using EaseUS Todo Backup on Windows 11 since I first installed the OS. I have never had any issues with it until last night when I attempted to run a backup.
When I clicked on the app, I got the message in the title of my post.
I am logged in as a user with admin privs.

The first thing I tried was running the app as admin, but that did not work.
Next, I logged out of my account, and logged back in under the administrator account.
The app runs on the admin account.

This all happened after the last MS update to Windows 11 Pro.
I am running ESET Internet Security, but I do not believe ESET has anything to do with this. The error message is from Windows UAC.

Thanks for your help

Please post a screenshot of the message you're seeing, the application's driver probably have been added to the recommended driver blocklist.

Here is the screenshot I took with my phone. I was unable to use the normal method while the warning dialog was displayed.
If the app's driver has been blocked by a 'black list', then why would it run under the administrator account?

Personally, I decide if I want to trust an app or not so I turn off smart app control. You can turm it off manually or If 'send optional diagnostic data' is turned off during windows install. that turns it off. However, once it is turned off, the only way to turn it back on is to reset or re-install windows,

If you go the path of the .exe file and then go to the properties, has it been marked as blocked?

It seems to be a different issue to one which I mentioned in my previous post. It's code signing certificate may be invalid now so Windows doesn't trust it.

Go through ESET and check all your settings.
Yesterday's update wiped out or changed a bunch of settings in my Bitdefender Internet Security.

Microsoft is playing... silly buggers again. :/

In my case...it messed up Bitdefender so bad I had to completely uninstall Bitdefender, then reinstall it.

SmartApp is just acting up. EaseUS's digital signature is valid till 2024, by Digicert (the most trusted certificate authority in the world), even some banks do not have this security. Just disable Smart app control, it is MS's nonsense anyway.

If this alert message continues, it's possible that Windows is in a corrupted state where Windows has administrator mode as usual, but part of Windows thinks you're not an administrator. This may be caused by malware that corrupted Windows.

@Ultrarunner22 I'm having the same issue, but with Win 10 22H2.
This doesn't only apply to EaseUS ToDo Backup Home, but also to EaseUs Partition Master
Since I'm only using Windows Defender, I think we can also exclude third-party AV.

I was running version 11.0 of Todo Backup, so I decided to upgrade to the current (15.5) while they are running their 'anniversary' sale.
The new version works fine.
I have done a complete scan in ESET. No threats were found.

I understand, but the software works properly as it is, so I won’t pay for something that does the same thing, just because someone (probabl) messed up something.

Btw, does someone more knowledgable knows if this issue is somehow related to this?

Perhaps I (or MS) did something along the way that caused the issue; I guess I should have spent more time figuring it out before purchasing the new version, but I am one of those guys who likes to upgrade regularly. That said, I still drive a 2004 Subaru Forester XT - best vehicle I have ever owned!

Just had a thought:
Since I now own EaseUS 11.0 and 15.5, I can install the old version on my Windows 10 box - if I should so desire. I don't use that box much, so backing up isn't such a thing, but if I back up at least the partition, I could save myself a lot of time if it crashes and needs to be re-installed.
