While the CVSS is a high the risk of compromise is generally lower since this requires local access to the system to exploit. Most systems running Linux are servers and don't have interactive users on them.

to check if the module is loaded or has been patched run this command in the terminal

dpkg -l kmod grep -qE '^algif_aead ' /proc/modules && echo "Affected module is loaded" || echo "Affected module is NOT loaded"

if the command comes back 'affected module is not loaded'
the kernel has been patched.

on Ubuntu 24.04 or higher this has already been patched.
