Thumbnail for photo file icons

Hello
I would like to display a thumbnail of the file's contents in the Windows 11 desktop icon for image and photo files.
Is there a method for this while keeping the other icons, for example those of the PDF files, the content currently displayed.

If that Google translation is correct, I am not clear exactly what you are asking. Are you creating shortcuts to individual folders or files that are in your pictures folder?
Or are you locating the actual folders/files on your desktop?

In my case, in my Pictures folder, I have View set as tiles. I can click on any folder or file within pictures, right click and select 'send to' then 'desktop'. This puts a shortcut on my desktop in the form of a thumbnail of that file or folder.
I can also copy an individual picture or folder of pictures to my desktop and see a thumbnail of that.

However, if I want to view the desktop folder from within file explorer rather than the actual desktop, the thumbnail is replaced with a folder icon or a file placeholder icon until I go to view (at the top) and change it to content.

Also I only want to change the desktop icon display for image files (jpg, png) for other icons I prefer them to keep the current appearance.

I'm assuming the circled item in your screenshot is a generic application icon, so I would try the option in File Explorer Options first...

L'icône entourée est un fichier image PNG créé avec le logiciel Photofiltre 11 et c'est le logo de ce logiciel qui s'affiche dans l'icône comme le logo d'Acrobat s'affiche dans les autres icônes.

2. Type sysdm.cpl and click OK

3. Click on "Advanced"
4. Click on Performance "Settings"
5. Make sure "Save taskbar thumbnails previews" and "Show thumbnails instead of icons" is checked
