Solved Time & Date problem...

Ok, here's the deal. The clock didn't automatically change to daylight savings time over the weekend.

I have two screenshots here... the Date & Time setting page from Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Windows 10 changed to daylight savings time, as it should. As you can see from the pics below, there is only one toggle in a different position.

That would be the "Set Time Zone automatically" toggle.
Even using the reg patch in the Win 11 tutorial, I can't turn that toggle... ON.

I think this is why the switch to daylight savings time, didn't work on Windows 11.

On Windows 10, the trick was to set the time zone manually, and THEN turn on the "set time zone automatically" toggle.
This isn't working on Windows 11.

I can't see any difference between your shots and my settings, but mine changed. I'll look again.

Don't just look at the toggles... read the titles of the toggles.
They switched two of them when going from Win 10 to Win 11.

Long story, short... all three toggles have to be ON, I think.
In the Win 10 pic, all three are... ON.
In the Win 11 pic, only two are... ON.


Can you post a screen of your Time & Date settings page on Win 11?

I didn't have the Win 11 drive hooked up, when we switched to daylight savings time. That could be the problem.
I just hooked up the Win 11 drive today. The last time the Win 11 drive was hooked up, was about 10 hours BEFORE the time change.




So... the Win 11 settings may be correct. That's why I want to see a screen of your settings.

Your Win 11 settings exactly as mine. On RTM version it auto changed. On the Dev channel had to toggle off and on 'Adjust for daylight saving time automatically'.

That must mean that the reason it didn't switch is because the Win 11 drive wasn't hooked up during the time change.
I would have thought it would automatically adjust WHEN I hooked that drive up again, but i guess that was too complicated for MS?


As soon as I clicked Sync now, it changed. And I have it set to auto sync. Maybe I just didn't wait long enough.


Yep... it doesn't auto sync till 4 minutes after midnight. :/

Funny, I get phone calls from those guys a couple of times a week. Sometimes they're from Intel, though. I'm afraid I'm very rude to them all.

They always tell me they're calling "about your computer." Kinda like the lady who calls sometimes to report transactions "on my credit card."

If they only knew how many computers and credit cards they're dealing with, they wouldn't bother. Or maybe they would.

No. I meant I pity the real life person that walks up to me and says they work for Microsoft.
Cause I will punch them in the nose. :)

They come up with a time sync feature, then set it up to sync once a day. Wth? LOL


I mean who was it, standing around the water cooler that said: "People only need to know the correct time once a day, so we only need to sync the time, once a day"?

I have a $29 flip phone with a 4MB OS, that syncs the time continuously.
I also have a $2000 computer, with a 20GB OS that syncs the time once a day.
Where's the logic in this? LOL
