I installed this on a Dell Alienware R16 without any issues, after I updated my BIOS.

I'm suspecting updates are paused for other brands as well. I haven't seen updates yet, but on a Lenovo.

You may have a point there since Dell puts a lot of crapware on there that can do exactly that.

It’s a little misleading to say “for Dell computers.” It’s for Dell computers using a particular driver. Good news is that it was found during the preview, and the hold was put in place before the monthly CU. So if you didn’t go seeking the preview, you should be fine.

I also installed this update on my System One machine and all is good here.

I found this below:
No Official Device List: Neither Microsoft nor Dell has published a definitive list of affected laptop or desktop models. You can check your Device Manager; if you see a yellow exclamation point next to your Intel Innovation Platform Framework driver, your machine is a part of the impacted group.

I also read on another site, that I cannot find now, that it was more likely to happen on older Dell's. My system-one is just over a year old now. My System Two machine has not installed this update so far. I will hold it back until this is corrected, as its birth year is 2019.

    From Dell: 512GB NVME Solid State Drive accelerated by 32GB Intel Optane Memory are the fastest as compared to NAND SSDs. Intel Optane H10 with SSD offers speedy storage and accelerates opening your programs.
My 12th-gen Intel-processor Dell has this driver. I haven’t installed the update, but it may have been "paused" anyway before it rolled out because they noticed it during the preview update at the end of June. The Winaero article at this point seems like clickbait for an issue that probably hasn’t happened in the stable update.

Dell engineers have done internal testing and found out that the issue originated in the optional cumulative update KB5095093, released June 23, 2026.

After installing the June 23, 2026, Windows preview update (KB5095093), a limited number of Dell devices might display a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager next to the Intel Innovation Platform Framework Processor Participant driver. In some cases, affected devices might experience changes in performance, power consumption, or system behavior.

This issue was identified as an incompatibility between the Intel driver and the new Windows USB-C Connection Manager interface introduced in the June 23, 2026, Windows preview update (KB5095093). We are working together with Dell to prevent the affected models from experiencing the issue.

Next steps: To mitigate this issue, the July 14, 2026, Windows security update for Windows 11, version 25H2 and Windows 11, version 24H2 (KB5101650) will not be offered to affected devices while Microsoft works with partners to resolve this issue. Microsoft plans to release a resolution for affected devices in the next few days.
