To: Field In Microsoft’s 365 Outlook Not Reliable

I have created a group consisting of 43 email addresses. Occasionally I have to send news of interest to them, and I use the BCC: field in Outlook. On occasion, I will deal with one of the recipients on an individual basis. I have never had any concerns until very recently. Most of those I deal with on an individual basis, I know receive my emails and when I deal individually, I use the To: field in Outlook. This one person is not receiving my individual emails to her but receives the group emails, both use the exact same email address.



So, I experimented repeating the same procedure twice. First, I sent an email using the To: field and both times, after 5 hours, she still hadn’t received the email. I sent her the same individual email using the BCC: field and she received them both times within seconds.



When I send group emails, the recipient only has to be replied to if they want to or if they want to comment on the subject, it is not required to reply since these emails usually report bad news about a member of our circle of friends. Over the years I have never encountered this problem before, that I am aware of. I wonder if there is a remedy. Any idea what is happening here with Outlook?

Well I am now back an original concern I had about not knowing how many people are not getting my individual emails. I thought it was only 1 but it just happened to another of my group. I sure can't find any help by searching the NET and as much as we rely on emails today, it is concerning.

    Dell says this system is not Windows 11 capable, but Microsoft seems happy with it.
Have you tried an Outlook repair?
I am not sure. Is there a repair that only works on Outlook?
I found what can be seen in the attachment. Which one would I use? Also, I ran that, would my profiles still open in Outlook as they do now?

The answer to all 3 questions above is No but I just checked the first two boxes you showed above to confirm it reached their server and they read it. I have the phone number of one of them, I will ask them to check their junk folder. Let me ask this, if they use their smart phone for emails, do they have a junk folder?

If you click on the three dots next to MS 365 and choose modify, there are a couple of repair options there.

Have you got the problem recipients to c-delivery-notifications-a34bf70a-4c2c-heck their spam folders?
Have you received any error messages from your ISP?

Have you set your Outlook to ask for delivery / reading notifications?

I set the top 2 options and ran a couple tests. I did not get a notification from either test when sending from the To: field or the BBC: field. Also, I did not get any error message.

The Office dates you mention have to be manual update dates. The last 2 times Microsoft 365 was updated, I believe I had to force it to update manually.

I read somewhere that even though I have requested a notification that the server received my emails there is no guarantee that these requests will be honoured - it can depend on the recipient's mail server settings. So since I have not received any notification but did get confirmation that at least one of my emails was received by the individual herself, is there anything I can do about not receiving the confirmation from the server?

That's right.
Receipts can also be blocked by settings in email applications themselves.

No.

Trying receipts can only be an aide to your investigation rather than a solution.
