I feel like today's update was a really worthwhile one. For example, it's nice to finally really have the tabbed File Explorer in final released form.

For some reason, it feels like the true arrival of 22H2 was today, not back in September.

It was a good day for Windows!

Snow! I miss snow. I'm in Texas now, where we just don't get much snow. Lived in NJ a LONG time ago and I miss the snow.

I know everyone has been screaming for tabs in explorer for years, and I do see certain circumstances where it would be beneficial. But, for the way I use my computer, having explorer tabs is kind of anti-climatic. I use snap a lot to show two windows side by side to compare contents of 2 folders, drag & drop between folders and other stuff like that. Like the tabs in my browser, if I ever want to have 2 explorer windows side by side I still have to open another instance of the app to do it.

In Edge, I've read where you can display its tabs side by side, but I've never been able to get it to work so if its possible, I must be doing something wrong. If anyone knows how to snap 2 explorer tabs or 2 edge tabs side by side, I'd appreciate if you would tell me how to do it. If it's not possible, having tabs in explorer won't help me much.

I just snap Edge to the left then drag a tab to the right and resize.

But I couldn't get that to work when using Explorer tabs. One would think it should work the same way.

I'm a long time Directory Opus user. It's nothing for me to have a dozen or more tabs open all the time. I simply switch between my most often used folders with a single click. Added to that are the Directory Opus Favorites and Smart Favorites, which are amazing.

Directory Opus stays open 100% of the time.
Even when I reboot, if I leave Directory Opus open, it will be sitting on the Taskbar for me exactly as I left it with all the tabs intact.

Unlike Directory Opus, File Explorer can't handle many tabs at present. It's very slow and sluggish with several tabs open.
I expect that they'll fix that eventually. At least Windows finally has tabbed file management. Users have been screaming out for it for years.

It works well as I can then drag all the tabs back to their original location. Dragging the tabs also works.

Then for me having explorer tabs will be only minimally helpful. That's a bummer. Oh well, I'm so in-grained with using win+E it's just something I won't have to un-learn to do.
When one is a creature of habit as I am, sometime, un-learning something is harder than to learn for one who is old and set in their ways.
