This is kind of a short rant so only read it if you want. I think I got band from either my closest America's Best or or all of the Americas Best stores. I had made appointments for my wife and I for our eye examinations. To save time I filled out all of the paperwork on line when I made the appointments. When we got there the person at the counter said that we had to fill out the paper work to which I replied that I had already filled them out online. We had a short discussion about it. We did keep it calm though. finally they said I take it you won't fill it out and said something to the affect of let me check something out and she went to another counter and was talking to somebody. While we were waiting another person took our insurance cards and told us we could have a seat ing the waiting area. While waiting I did fill out the paper work and when I took it back to the person at the desk I was informed that when they tried entering the insurance information my name wasn't coming up. I decided to cancel our appointments until i found out what was going on. When I called the insurance company the rep had no problem finding me and my wife in their system. He called the store to get it straitened out. He called me back and said he had a talk with the same person and was told a few things and that they don't accept Aetna insurance. We used it last year with no problem. I think he was being nice and didn't want to say that they wouldn't accept me as a patient. They also told him that I used a different eye care provider last year. I never had another eye care provider. I had him email me a list of eye doctors near me that did accept Aetna. To my surprise there were a couple of America's Best listed. The only problem is they're further away and in Pennsylvania. I'm going to check with my son and see were he goes.

I can say that our talk never got out of control. America's Best does accept Aetna insurance. They also told the insurance rep that last year I used a different eye care insurance provider. I've never had eye care insurance until I turned 65 and through my wife my medicare was switched to a Aetna medicare advantage plan. I'm thinking about trying a different location.

On the flip side, when you have corporations creating support farms and paying the absolute minimum, and folks feel like they're stuck in a dead end job and their bosses don't give a rubbish, can you blame them?

FWIW, I did that job for 15 years before moving up and out of end user support. Even I had bad days with customers, though I can say that I never started something. But I have also had customers who get irate because I'm trying to help them fix a problem they brought to me, and even here, I've had people try to get on my case because I suggest a step by step process and someone thinks I'm giving one part of the procedure as the entire solution.

It works both ways. Those are human beings on the other end of the phone, and I'm sure they would like to keep their jobs, so they toe the company line.
