Windows 11 21H2 22000.348
Hi guys,

I'm having a ton of issues and I think my windows 11 is pretty corrupt. Wondering if there's a way to fix without doing a full reinstall.

Calculator doesn't open, snipping tool doesn't open, which led me to try to reinstall them from the Store. The Store app opens but just spins and never loads.

Trying to do repairs - it appears as though the BITS service is corrupt. The store is corrupt. I get "Service registration is missing or corrupt" when I run troubleshooter on both.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I agree with Jeff. The other way is with the DISM commands shout if you help with them
Run the following commands - one at a time - using Windows Terminal / Powershell / Command Prompt in Administrator Mode -

sfc /scannow
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

and then reboot your device.

If the issues still persist, run a repair install as per the link offered by BunnyJ

Thanks for the help so far guys.

The sfc/ scannow returns issues in a file but cannot fix everything (looking at the log file it seems that most of the problems it cannot fix are because it can't connect to the Store).

When I try to run the mediaCreation tool for either the ISO or the USB of Windows 11, I get an error "We're not sure what happened... Error code: 0x80080005 - 0x90018".

Possibly. My BITS didn't work on either install. The Store seems to be loading now at least.

BITS still throws an error when I try to troubleshoot it: Error 2388526088. I'm pretty sure BITS is used to install things from the Store.

The sfc/ scannow returns issues in a file but cannot fix everything
When SFC cannot fix everything this is usually because the the files in component store it would use for repairs are also corrupt.

Run the DISM RestoreHealth option to repair the component store (you'll need to be online so it can download new files) then run SFC again.

Welp I'm back on 10. I tried everything short of returning the laptop - seems to be working smoothly so I'll just stick with this until 11 is more stable. Thanks again for your suggestions guys.
