TPM 2.0 and windows 11

hello i have a problem i have a acemagic f5a amd ryzen ai 9 hx 470 mini pc and i am currently running windows 11 pro OS build 25h2 26200.8875 with tpm 2.0 and secure boot enabled in bios and tpm.msc says everything is a ok tpm MSFT manufacturer version 10.6.0.10 specification version 2.0 but if i try to install update 2026-07 preview update 26200.8973 or any build higher then my current build it downloads installs but on reboot i freeze on bios logo screen have to shutdown 3 times to repair uninstall the update then pc works again so i tried to do a clean install with update installed and get the same result then tied all the evaluation version on windows insider same results it won't even boot the usb drive but if i go into bios and set TPM 2.0 to TPM 1.2 it boots up and install fine so is it the windows update and higher builds the problem or is it a bios problem cause current version works as it should ?

It sounds like your BIOS, not Windows.


Two clues. Your TPM shows "MSFT" as maker, which means it is built into the AMD chip rather than being a separate part. And the PC freezes at the BIOS logo — that is before Windows has started, so Windows cannot be the cause.


And when you switch to TPM 1.2 everything works. That points to a fault in the TPM 2.0 part of your firmware. The new Windows build just wakes the fault up, because newer builds use the TPM more during startup.


What I would try:


1- Look on AceMagic's support page for a BIOS update for the F5A. That is the real fix.


2- Install it, set TPM back to 2.0, then try the Windows update again.


3- While you are in the BIOS, look for anything called "fTPM" or "Erase fTPM". Some boards have a switch that clears it.


One warning: if BitLocker is switched on, save your recovery key before you touch the TPM. Otherwise the drive locks and it will ask you for that key at startup.


Also worth emailing AceMagic. It is their firmware, and they should know about it.


Staying on TPM 1.2 works for now, but Windows 11 really wants 2.0, so treat it as temporary.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    My SYSTEM FOUR was a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e (1st gen) type 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device. This has now been sold. It has been replaced by my System Eight.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 8GB RAM, 1TB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus Insider Beta, Experimental 263xx and 29xxx builds (and a few others) as a native boot .vhdx.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, 1920x1080 touchscreen, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine. As its new home has an existing digital licence for Pro I've been able to upgrade the migrated OS from Home to Pro.
    29 Sept. 2026 Feature Update to 26H2 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 26H2.

    My SYSTEM EIGHT is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e (5th gen) type 20LN, Celeron N4120, 8GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, a supported device for Windows 11. Currently running Windows 11 Pro, plus Insider Beta, Experimental 263xx and 29xxx builds as native boot vhdx.
You can visit your manufacturer support site and download latest driver pack, but I don't know if that also includes a BIOS update. They should offer it separately. If there is no new BIOS there, you can try running Windows Update and see in the Advanced, Optional section. Then from the driver pack locate and install the chipset driver (alternatively I would download it directly from AMD) and the TMP driver. If that doesn't work, avoid installing this optional update. Wait until Microsoft fixes any bugs and then releases it as standard update (not optional).

I figured it out after messing with all the different bios setting
load defaults that will set all the secure boot and TPM setting save changes
set GPX memory size save and exit
enter bios then look for
Advanced
AMD CBS
SOC Miscellaneous Control
Microsoft Security Levels
choose Pluton fTPM Level 1 with Pluton Security Processor
save and exit
that turns everything on and windows boots up perfectly and tpm.msc say everything is A OK
for anyone who has the mini computer that's my fix
