TrayToolbar - add Toolbars back into Windows 11

Dear Edwin,
As much as I have respected your advices and opinions for a while, I must be a rebel on this one. :p
I like this now, especially with the ability to create some folders.
Please don't get mad at me.:hot::hot:View attachment 49265
When I click on All apps and I scroll down to the bottom of the list there's an Others category with a whole bunch of 'ms-resource:' items. By comparison, the All apps view in the Win 7 style Start Menu of Open-Shell doesn't seem to have this problem, and I also like the 2 column layout of this menu, plus there's the little triangles next to the items that auto-cascade when I hover my mouse for a period of time that I can adjust in settings, I don't have to move my mouse in a straight horizontal line to be able to reach the cascaded items or sub-menus, the width of the sub-menus can be set to auto-adjust so multi-level cascades don't very easily take up the whole screen. I mean, I can customize the whole thing in so many more ways than what's possible with anything I have seen that tries to compete with this. Once you have seen the light, there is no going back.

SystemTrayMenu available in the Microsoft Store puts back a toolbar in Windows 11. It stays hidden until you invoke it and you can paste shortcuts here from your Programs Start Menu.
I don't see System TrayMenu in the MS store.

I was looking for a way to setup the old QuickLaunch toolbar, but somehow, I doubt that this thing gets even close.

I don't like PINNED items because they mix in with open apps. QL was perfect for me - I set it up on the left just to the right of Search.

ExplorerPatcher restores the ability to use Taskbar Toolbars [of which QuickLaunch is an example] but it does stop the Start button functioning so you might want to pair it with something like StartAllback.
New Version of ExplorerPatcher - ElevenForum

I haven't paired mine with anything else because my Taskbar Toolbars are my menu system and I don't need the Start menu at all.

This is what I would suggest, just download Explorer patcher, right click taskbar and click properties and then you can customise it how you like. For toolbars, just right click and choose toolbars.

Is it compatible with Start11?
I don't know.
I cannot think why it would not be.
Try searching that thread I gave you a link to & asking in it if necessary.

Best of luck,

Well, it stopped the Start button working on the three Windows 11 computers I have installed ExplorerPatcher on. I thought it must be by design.
I have nothing in particular against having a functioning Start button.

... I like the W11 layout and the Start menu without the 'Recommended' wasted space. (And AFAIK, only ExplorerPatcher gives me that)
Power Start Menu (MS Store) Trial or Paid (inexpensive).

I'm using v22621.1413.54.5 which I downloaded in April.
I'll update to the current version, v22621.1555.55.1

Done. Yes, the Start button works now.

Thanks.

So you've no need to pair ExplorerPatcher with anything else. I was wrong. After updating to the latest version, my Start button works.

Neat. Though I'd love toolbars to be added to Start11!

You can add toolbars to Start11, i.e., by adding ExplorerPatcher to Start11. It shouldn't be too hard AFAIK.

I know. My point is that it would be a great enhancement to Start11.
I could give you a long list of other enhancements that it still lacks. That in fact is why I use Open-Shell (formerly ClassicShell) alongside ExplorerPatcher. I.e., it lets me avoid having to pay money to get the kind of stuff that has been being completely free for the past 13 years.

We're on a vendor website, a vendor that's generally been helpful and easy to deal with. I'm asking them for a useful enhancement, not trying to trash them. Plus after a number of years, I've come to trust what I download to them.
