True Launch Bar

Truelaunchbar will work up to current Jan 22 Windows 11 updates
You need to use the "portable" version which shows as a small shortcut just above the taskbar , for registered users .
You dont need to modify any Windows settings , just make sure it runs at startup.
Yeah, I used the standalone version of TLB which worked great since Win11 came out BUT it covers up a corner that sometimes has important info so I rarely have to drag it around. Only a bit of a pain but... Besides, SAB app does oh such more than allow TLB back onto the taskbar.

I don't think TLB corrupts the corner. For me totally nuking Start11 fixed that. StartAllBack and WinAero Tweaker are now my go-to apps.

Yes and NO !
The version you quote is not as good as Start 11, imho , and in particular does not allow a drag and drop re sort to adjust the order of start menu shortcut items

If you want to use TLB embedded in the task bar and Start11 at the same time, check out Explorer Patcher on github. Unless StartAllBack provides some indispensable feature that you just can't live without, the TLB/EP combo *should* give you the end result you are looking for.

I use the normal Win11 start menu as I like it better than the old Start 7 or 8 or any of the other options available with SAB. There are a lot of tweaks also available with SAB, some of which I use. So I'm good with just StartAllBack, thanks.

Hey guys, new to this forum, glad to see there might be some support for 11 outside the box. I've been using "True Launch Bar" for well over a decade, maybe closer to two, and with the continuing changes to Windows I've come to find it hard to live without. So imagine my chagrin when I find out I can't use it on 11's task bar. Is this just a temporary thing until 11 is finalised, or am I Sh*.o.o.Luck? I have found Object Dock, which kinda sorta works, but nowhere near as functional as TLB. Any ideas? Thanks :)
Hi, Nodeity. I don't use TLB, I use Open Shell and Nexus, so I'm taking a stab at this. I'm an Insider also running the current Dev build of Win 11. The last build, yesterday, included drag 'n drop to the TB. I fired up my Dev build, DL'd and installed TLB, and did a drag.n.drop to the TB. Keep in mind I have no Idea what I'm doing with it, but it appears to have worked as you described you would like. Looks like it can create folders with trees, etc. Just guessing. Anyway, lots of good features make it to RTM Win 11 from the Dev builds, and I think this may be one of them, just takes some time. Here's a pic of what I did. Hope this helps.

The only Start Menu that I have found to be a real improvement FUNCTIONALLY (as opposed to being only cosmetically or worse─with a few minor exceptions added in some cases admittedly) is Open-Shell (former Classic Shell) Classic Start Menu with the Windows 7 style option enabled in it. I'll take the eye candy as a nice bonus, but... FOR ME, the goal has always been to get rid of frivolous annoyances before anything else... and IMO there are lots........

Haven't tried it yet, but Yuri Kobets announced a new version of TLB yesterday (Dec 1, '22) and the Tordex site says it works with W11. We'll have to see just what that means.
