Trying to recover deleted files

One of my folders got deleted by accident.
I found Microsoft file recovery software.
I downloaded it and ran it and it recovered a lot of files from the folder.
When I try to open the file in Word, I get a message:
Word found unreadable content in (file name.docx.
Do you want to recover the contents of this document?
If you trust the source of this document, click Yes.
The file still does not open.
I can not enclose a copy of one of the files, it has a .docx extension which is not supported.

You can add it to a zip file and attach it to a post.

When a file(s) is deleted, file recovery software can recover that file(s) in it's entirety ONLY if the space on the drive where the file was originally located has not been overwritten. If any of the space on the drive has been overwritten, it is possible for the file to be recovered but unreadable(ie: corrupted) as the recovery software was not able to recover the file in it's entirety.

it maybe an idea to change the file name from
filename.docx to filename.doc
save the change then try opening the file.
