This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off hide content when notifications are on the lock screen for your account in Windows 11.

Notifications are alerts from apps, system, and other senders.

Windows 11 shows notifications on the lock screen (Win+L), Notification Center (Win+N), and notification banners at the lower-right corner of the screen above the taskbar on the main display.

You can choose to hide content of notifications from apps when on the lock screen for privacy.

Contents

  • Option One: Turn On or Off Hide Content of Notifications from App on Lock Screen in Settings
  • Option Two: Turn On or Off Hide Content of Notifications from App on Lock Screen in Registry Editor

Instead of doing it one by one for each app, how can i do this for all apps using registry/group policy?

Hello, :-)

I'm not sure so far other than to turn off lock screen notifications all together.

Hello,

Is there any way to always hide the content of the notifications? Sometimes I get notifications while I'm sharing my screen and it would be great if I can hide the preview

Hello, :alien:

You could turn on "Do not disturb" below while sharing your screen to not get any notification banners until you turn off "Do not disturb". The notifications will still be available in the Notification Center (Win+N) to look at later.
