Ubuntu on WSL

Thank very much your suggestions. I tried to install Virtual Box on one of my X86 desktops. I install the MS C++ and rebooted, but virtual box kept telling me that the C++ was not installed. After playing with some of the wsl2 parameters on the hp laptop, the system is stable enough to run LO Writer, Calc, and Evolution under WSL2 and Win 11 takes care of anything else. It is clunky at times, but good enough to do paying client work.

This is stock Dell 7720. Only thing not stock is that it is dual boot with Ubuntu Unity 25.04 and SSD has two exFAT partitions for my files. They can be accessed by both Ubuntu and Win software.

Thank you very much. OS Build 27868,1000 . Same as all my other Win 11 Pro PCs. I have done Ubuntu installations numerous times on Win 11 and Win 10 pcs. AOMEI Partition Asst shows the ext4 partitions that the Ubuntu installer made as well as the exFAT partitions I made. SSD is 1.2T Right now, WSL2 is working well enough to do serious work on the laptop. More than 90% of my work can be done on Evolution and LibreOffice and I have Microsoft 36y5 as a backup. However, it would be nice to have the full dual-boot functionality.
I tried dual boot on several computers at home, and once in a while issues with the boot file somehow getting messed up, so I quit doing it. not sure about how other feel about using it.
