Unable to connect to Google from Firefox in recent days

I keep getting this error message when I try to do a Google search using Firefox.

Secure Connection Failed​


An error occurred during a connection to www.google.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR


Error code: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

  • Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Searching on Bing seems to work OK. However, Bing is not being very helpfu, in trying to suss out this Google problem

if that doesn’t work, try renaming the cert9.db file in your profile folder while Firefox is not running so that a new one is generated.

If you have VPN or Proxy, disable them as they can cause this error.

Disable Firefox Extensions and Add-Ons.

Use different DNS servers like google DNS servers.

please try in firefox
settings > general
at the bottom of that page
network settings > settings

mark .. Auto-detect proxy settings for this network
then click OK

close firefox down completely, log out then log back in
then retry the connection
