It's been a while since I built a machine and a lot has changed. I'm now building a new machine. I used MSmediacreationtool to make a USB version. However, when I start the machine it does not find the drive. In the ASUS BIOS I can't find a boot order like I remember. No way I can see to tell it where to look for the OS. On startup before entering the BIOS I can see both m.2 SSD drives are listed.

I built with these parts. All current.
Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix B850-I gaming
Processor: Ryzen 9 9900X
Memory: G.SKILL Flare X5 DDR5 64GB 6000 CL30-40-40-96

Try turning off fast Boot and secure boot. Also, watch this video, but for your issue, maybe watch from 1min 20sec (This video is set to start at 1min 19sec)

Then start at the beginning to see how to boot from the USB

Yep. I think I'm getting somewhere now. It is now finding the USB, and I start installing windows. However when during the process, the machine restarts, it goes back to the Bios and Halts.

As soon as it restarts, unplug the thumb drive. Or, if you have already gotten to the point where it reboots and it tried to boot from the thumb drive, just unplug it now and reboot. Windows setup should continue. The thumb drive is no longer needed after the first reboot.

So What I found is that in the BIOS there is setting "Wait for F1 on error." (The F1 key takes me to the BIOS) I believe the "Error" is the cooler fan not registering as that comes up in the POST screen. This machine has an AIO and the radiator fans attach to the Pump cable with a built-in splitter so the CPU_FAN header is not used which is why I think I'm getting the error. As it is, CPU temp at idle is 34°. Windows is loaded thanks for the help all.

Which AIO CPU cooler are you using? It doesn't make sense that there is a splitter.

The AIO pump should be connected to the AIO_PUMP header. That is so it runs at a constant speed.
The AIO fan should be connected to the CPU_FAN header. It needs to run at a variable speed as controlled by the motherboard.

Note the BIOS gives an error if the CPU cooler fan is not plugged into the CPU_FAN header.

EDIT: look in manual for motherboard layout and assure your aio fan is plugged to the 4 pin fan hub on the mobo marked "CPU FAN",(not "CPU OPT").
yes there will be adapters - my aio has 3 fans. Adapter came with aio. Thermalright.

You should use the USB stick as an overraid unit, i suggest also to put into another USB stick the wifi driver, it should ask you at one point to go on with installation process, and don't forget to update the BIOS, it's very important for the Ryzen 5, good look you'll enjoy your new PC.
PS I always use the MSmediacreationtool except for the previous build which was unsupported and I had tu use Rufus, I've never had a problem with the MS tool it will format the stick in the right way.
