As I mentioned before, I built this machine over 6 months ago and really don't remember what steps I took to update to Windows 11, but I am sure it had nothing to do with piracy. I appreciate all your help and advice, but it seems that my machine and Windows 11 are so screwed up at this point that cleaning and reinstalling would be a lot of work and might even involve my losing the ability to reinstall Windows 11 altogether, so I think I will just continue to limp along while I search for help elsewhere.
