Hi guys. First post in this forum. I just started using Windows 11 a few days ago, and I am in the process of setting up the computer to my liking. I don't recall if I had OneNote in my W10 or not but last night I clicked on it to see what it was, I had never clicked on OneNote before and right away I knew it was not for me. So, I unpinned it from Start menu and proceeded to uninstall it from Apps in Settings. After a few seconds, OneNote appeared to uninstall and that was that.
A few hours later, I realized the thing even though it was not showing up anymore on Apps, OneNote still appeared in All in Start menu, and not only that but also this morning I saw the app set itself up as starting with the computer. Using Search for OneNote led me to the app. So, the app is still in the computer.
And now, I really want to get rid of it. I haven't used Power shell yet to unistall anything in W11 but a little while I tried to uninstall OneNote using Power shell, and One Note did not get uninstalled:
I used this below:
Get-appxpackage -allusers *onenote* | Remove-AppxPackage -allusers
Would this below be the correct command:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -PackageTypeFilter Bundle -Name "*onenote*" | Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers
I looked for Brink's tutorial for using Powershell to uninstall apps in Windows 11, like the one for Windows 10 but have not found it. Is it a bad idea to use Powershell or command prompt to uninstall this type of apps in Windows 11? In W10 this method worked pretty good, maybe not so good in W11? Please tell me.
Bo
