Three weeks ago I got a Razer Blackwidow V4. Nice keyboard to be honest, now that I've re-learned to type again!
Anyway this morning I woke the PC from sleep as normal, but the keyboard wasn't responsive - no keypresses would register
The RGB lights were on.

I shut the PC down from the lockscreen then powered off and back on, it was ok after that

As I've only had the KB for 3 weeks I can still return it if it's not working right.

Driver issue?

I don't know if it's the keyboard or just Windows weirdness, but I suspect Windows.

Periodically, my Logitech G815 will refuse to wake my PC from sleep with a key press, the mouse will not wake it either. I have to press the reset button and all is well. All my drivers are up to date, and the keyboard is working just fine. In my case, it is just a quirk in Windows or BIOS that is causing this, I am pretty sure.

In your case, unless this happens a lot, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I look at it as a minor inconvenience. I don't think that there is anything wrong with your keyboard, though.

Have you tried asking about this on the Razer help site? Maybe there is a forum there with an explanation or a cure.

I use the power button to wake the PC - wake on keyboard and mouse is disabled in device manager.
Probably just a USB glitch but I will keep an eye on things.
How do you find the G815? I was looking at that before getting the Razer, but not sure if I can handle a low profile keyboard. I use a Logi mouse so already run G Hub, I might still consider changing as this one can still be returned inside 30 days

I love the G815. Individual key LEDs so I can have my keys color coded, very silent keys (I have the linear tactile version, not the clicky keys - those drive me insane).

The only thing that I don't like about it is that the key legends wear off or are chipped off by fingernails and Logitech does not sell replacements. My keyboard is about two years old and the 'E' and 'O' keys are almost unrecognizable. Other than that, it is a fantastic keyboard.

And someone on this forum suggested a website where I can buy replacement keys which are OEM. I ordered a few. :-)

Yes I read that the keys wear off quite quickly. The Razer can do indivdual key colours and different profiles.
I'll stick with this one for now unless I keep getting problems

Just seen that Logitech have launched the G915 X - a new model of their G915. It has double shot PBT keys so more durable.
I've always liked Logitech more than other brands so I'm returning the Razer today and ordering a G915 X Tactile.
Razer software is pretty naff to be fair as well, I already have G Hub anyway

From the Device Manager, check if Selective Suspend is enabled on your USB controller's power management tab.

It's the same setting it's always been, yesterday was a one off I think. The keyboard has been returned now anyway

Keyboard heaven... (you can choose the country at top right)

In 2013 I bought a Ducky Shine 2, and a Ducky Shine 3 (just in case).
I type like a pile driver, with two or three fingers. In ten years, I couldn't harm the keyboard at all. It just got dirty.
I don't touch type, I pound type. :-)

The black surrounding paint wore off quite a few keys, but the actual letters, didn't.
In 2023 I had to clean the Shine 2, and replace the key caps...

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
The problem that I have with some of these keyboards is the damn clicky keys. Even the ones advertised as "silent" or "low noise" are crazy loud. I love the feel of a mechanical keyboard, but it shouldn't give you a headache using it, nor should it wake up the whole house because you are typing.

That's why I went with linear tactile keys. Very quiet, but still has a good thump at the bottom of the keystroke. You definitely know that you have pressed a key.

You should have seen me at Best Buy and Staples comparing the noise on keyboards. I was opening boxes and everything trying to find the quietest one, and I did, but not before sales associates in both stores asked me to stop opening boxes. lol
