Failing with Install error - 0x800f0922. I have retried the update several times but it fails each time, same place (40%) and with same error code.

The odd thing is this occurs while installing KB5044384 which shows as successfully installed previously in Update History. I'm confused why it would even try to install it again if it was successful previously. But whatever, it's just retrying and failing constantly so I've had to turn off updates to be able to use the computer. If anyone can help I'd like to avoid a clean re-install if possible.

The update Troubleshooter couldn't find/fix the problem. It offered to send me to an agent, but that's pointless.

There's never been a problem with downloading the update, it always does that. It only fails during the installation phase, getting to 37% for a long while, then 40% and then jumps to a "didn't go as expected..." message and then rolls it back.

I've run the Reset Update batch file several times now. It doesn't help either.

Is there any further advice? Is a clean install the only way?

The odd thing is this occurs while installing KB5044384 which shows as successfully installed previously in Update History.

KB5044384 has been updated and will take you from 2152 to 2161 level.

A custom install is an alternative to clean install.
